Monday Swimming Lesson for Beginners 11:00-14:00

Our Holiday Activity Fun (HAF) Swim lesson are aimed at Children aged 8-16 who are either weak swimmers, cannot swim unaided or are yet to learn how to swim. We will offer a small group (max of 8 children) swimming lesson with the goal of boosting water confidence and learning core swimming skills and lifesaving skills. These lessons are aimed are weak/none swimmers. Please do not book if your child is able to swim - please see our other swimming offer.


The lesson will follow the template below:

Drop off at 11:00

0-30 mins: welcome to the learning space where they will meet the swim teacher and go through:

-       Dangers around all types of water

-       Beach safety

-       Water safety

-       Life savings skills

30-40 mins: Participants will head down into the changing rooms and get changed for the swimming pool.

40-120mins: Pool-based activity/games/personal survival/floating skills, broken up into 10/15 mins blocks with times for games/breather between activities.

120-140mins: participants get changes and meet the swim teacher outside the changing room

140-180mins: participants receive a packed lunch to be eaten in a meal in the room with food-based activities (same as the holiday club)

    All children must be registered with an adult present on their lesson. After their first day, children aged 12 and over may arrive and leave on their own accord with written and signed permission arranged on the first day. This must be agreed with the Community Sports Development Lead in advance. We will be asking for a password to safeguard the safe collection of your child/ren where staff have changed, or you require someone else to collect them. If you are not comfortable saying your password out loud in the reception area, please have this written down or on the screen of your phone so you can show the Club Lead in the morning. Parents or guardians can access the Sportspark car park for free but will need to validate their parking ticket at the Sportspark reception before leaving. Please note there may be a charge if parking in the main UEA car park.
